VERBIER, VALAIS
4 Valleys ski region

Verbier, one of the top-rated and beloved ski resorts in the Swiss Alps. This cosmopolitan holiday resort is situated on a sunny plateau above the Val de Bagnes and offers a unique panoramic view of the Mont-Blanc and the Combins massif.

STUNNING SCENERY AND VIP’S
Verbier is mostly popular with British and Scandinavian skiers and it is not uncommon to run into celebrities like royal society members, singers like James Blunt, Ed Sheeran and Madonna or actors like Leonardo DiCaprio and Jude Law. The town is both upmarket and highly fashionable, with its array of the best designer shops, fine dining and luxury accommodation. The ski resort is informal and easy-going filled with powder hounds and general adrenaline junkies. Verbier has its uniquely lively atmosphere and it is really hard to beat this resort when it comes down to après ski and nightlife.

The scenery here is fantastic too. The village itself has a pleasant architectural aesthetics, tucked away in its own private valley with stunning views over the mountain peaks, it gives you a secure and almost private kind of feel. The centre of Verbier is situated around the mainroad of Rue de Médran, which runs from the Place Centrale all the way up to the Médran lift connecting most of the shops, bars and restaurants. The high-quality chalets are located above this central zone facing out in all directions creating quiet suburbs, away from the hustle and bustle and are for the lovers that want to own a luxurious chalet in Verbier.

WINTER ACTIVITES
As soon as the first snow falls, Verbier becomes a mecca for winter sports enthusiasts. The ‘4 Valleys’ ski zone with 412 km of ski runs embraces five resorts: Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and La Tzoumaz. A cable car takes skiers to the summit of Mont-Fort (altitude: 3330 m), from where the descent is one of the most superb “black runs” in the Alps. For an even more challenging off-piste itinéraire head direction the Col de Gentianes to Tortin, one of the longest, most sustained mogul runs in Europe. The resort really offers some highly challenging and exhilarating skiing but it is not all about extreme skiing. There is a wide offer of red ski runs across the region and the tree-skiing over at Bruson is fabulous after a heavy snowfall. Towards Veysonnaz and Les Collons there is even a greater range of blue and red slopes. Non-skiers can also enjoy the winter countryside on a snowshoe walk, by taking the hiking trails or launching out on the longest toboggan run in La Tzoumaz.

SUMMER ACTIVITES
In summer, mountainbike and hiking enthusiasts can choose from among numerous marked trails. The Swiss alpine village has countless activities in store for families, senior citizens and young people such as paragliding, heliski, climbing routes, adventure park, golf, museums, shopping and last but not least, try out some wonderful local dishes (f.e the Bagnes cheese) and lovely wines for the taste. One attraction not to be missed: the climb to the summit of Mont-Fort (glacier at 3300m), with sweeping views from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc.
