CRANS-MONTANA (Canton Valais)

The two neighbouring resorts of Crans and Montana are situated at an altitude of 1500 mt. on a sun-drenched plateau high above the Rhone Valley with an impressive view on a chain of mountain peaks such as the Matterhorn and the Mont Blanc.
Crans-Montana embodies all the comforts of a modern holiday resort with an expansive natural landscape and panoramic views of the Alps in Valais. This mountain resort makes you think of ski, sun, golf and luxury and offers great opportunities to buy a property in Switzerland.
The distance to the town of Sierre is on a 30min drive and Geneva airport finds itself on a 2hr and 15 min drive.

The skiing area of Crans-Montana is composed of 140km of pistes. The ski slopes stretch from the high plateau up to the Plaine Morte Glacier at 2927 m. The pistes are broad and open, ideal for beginners and deep-snow skiers. For a challenging descent, advanced skiers will take the chairlift to La Toula. Particularly popular are the broad carving pistes and the valley descent down the Piste Nationale which, at 12 km, is the longest in the Wallis region. In Winter the golf courses become a paradise for cross-country skiers and hikers. In addition to classic cross-country ski trails, there is also an extra piste especially for skaters.

The modern side of Crans-Montana offers the most extensive and luxurious alpine boutiques for shopping. There are several restaurants, tearooms, bars and supermarkets.  Even a cultural congress centre is not missing. This resort definitely has an elite-vibe with its golfing Mecca that draws visitors from all over the world. The 18-hole Severiano Ballesteros Golf Course offers breath-taking views as it is situated on the high plateau of Crans and the international elite of the ‘Omega European Masters’ meet here every year for golfing tournaments.
Crans-Montana is a family-friendly ski resort where you can enjoy five swimming lakes and walks through aromatic mountain forests along an extensive network of footpaths. During the evenings people go out to enjoy a glass of ‘Fendant wine’ while enjoying the company of people passing down the streets. Of course then the evening concludes with a good fondue in a rustic inn. In addition to well-known sports like summer hiking on the Plaine Morte glacier plateau, tennis and squash, Crans-Montana also has facilities for canyoning, mountain climbing, water skiing and even paragliding.
